Artist’s Statement
By way of artistic discipline and a new challenge, I often enjoy drawing people as they move about, maybe in galleries or airports or stations and sometimes, in life drawing classes. This painting began from a study of figures in an art gallery but to my eye, the figures began to merge with the colours in the background paintings and so I decided to work very intuitively and accept that the painting would go its own way and become an abstract, expressive merging of the subjects. Hence the title!!
