Artist’s Statement
The view of Oxford Road looking North West toward the library has been a favourite of mine for some time. Not only does it provide all the elements that I feel make an interesting composition but it also holds a certain nostalgia for me. To the right of the painting just beyond the bridge support is a bus stop that my family would often use to travel back to Withington (a small village/town just south of the city centre) to visit my grandparents, memories that I cherish.
