Paul Beauvais
Born,1966 London, UK. Son of artist Walter John Beauvais (1942-1998), well known English painter. Grandson of French artist Arnold Beauvais (1886-1984), one time president of The London Sketch Club, renowned commercial artist and poster designer. Great grandson of artist Charles Henri Beauvais (1862-1909), well known French lithographer and poster designer
Paul was self taught after spending much of his childhood in his father's and grandfather's studios. After deciding to become a painter he had his first solo exhibition after only one year. He had a series of one man shows for the following few years until emigrating to Australia with his wife and three children. The last solo exhibition was sent to London from Australia in 2001. Paul decided to pursue other career paths in Australia whilst painting part time. He worked as a framemaker in Melbourne's only remaining traditional framemaker. He has learnt composition techniques, gilding and woodcarving.
He has an expert knowledge of European C20th Art and spent many years buying and selling art.
His work is recognised in the secondary art market and often appears around the world. His works have sold in Christie's, Bonhams, Sotheby's ,Menzies and many other auction houses.
